It’s been one of those weekends where the paperwork finally caught up with me — invoices, certificates, and plenty of admin to get through before the week ahead. It’s not the glamorous side of electrical work, but it’s all part of running a busy local business and keeping everything organised.
Between all that, I still had a couple of emergency call-outs to deal with — one in Hailsham where a fuse board tripped late at night, and another over in Eastbourne for a faulty outside light that had taken out part of the circuit. There’s nothing better than getting someone’s power back on, especially when they’ve been without it for hours.
Now that the weekend’s done, I’m looking forward to what’s shaping up to be a very busy week ahead. We’ve got a great mix of jobs lined up across Polegate, Heathfield, Seaford, and Tunbridge Wells — including a few consumer unit upgrades, outbuilding and workshop installations, and several LED downlight upgrades. I’ve also got a handful of security light installations booked in, which always pick up this time of year with the darker evenings creeping in.
I really enjoy this variety — one day I might be rewiring a garage in East Dean, and the next fitting sleek new LED lighting in a modern kitchen in Hellingly. Every job’s different, but the goal’s always the same: to make homes and businesses around East Sussex safer, brighter, and more energy-efficient.
