Today I was in Eastbourne, installing power and lighting to a customer’s garage that’s being converted into a small workshop for the winter months. Jobs like this are always rewarding because you can really see the space transform from something cold and dark into a bright, functional area that’s ready to use all year round.
I started by running a new power feed to the garage and setting up a small consumer unit to keep everything safe and properly protected. Once the main supply was in, I installed bench sockets along the work area — perfect for tools and chargers — and fitted LED batten lights overhead to give plenty of bright, even light.
By the end of the day, the whole space felt completely different — clean, well-lit, and ready for whatever projects the customer has planned this winter.
I really enjoy this type of work because it’s practical, tidy, and makes a real difference to how people can use their spaces. A few hours of wiring and some decent lighting can completely change how a garage or shed feels and works.
