Consumer Unit Upgrade – Polegate
We were recently called out to a property in Polegate to look at an existing fuse board that had become a bit of a patchwork over the years. Circuits added, little alterations here and there, and different people working on it at different times.
From the outside, it looked like “just a fuse board.”
But inside, it was a different story.
The old consumer unit was:

We removed the old unit and installed a new modern metal consumer unit, complete with:
RCBO protection on every circuit (So each circuit has its own dedicated safety device) Surge Protection (Protecting your home electronics from voltage spikes) All cabling neatly re-dressed, secured, and labelled Full testing, certification and notification
The difference is clear the moment you open the cover — everything has its place, everything is secure, and everything is laid out logically.
